Kimono ClassicThe Kimono Collections 'Classic' range is divided into two specialty areas:
1. The Premium Uchikake (wedding Kimono) range of totally individual handbags in the KIKO and HANA styles &
2. The Obi (Sash) range in three styles: Obi-Glam; Obi-Retro and Obi-Oh! Each Obi is different and only produces a maximum of approximately 12 handbags in total, depending on the Obi and style of the handbag.
The Uchikake Kimonos are becoming rarer and rarer. An extremely luxurious and expensive item - unaffordable for most Japanese - is being replaced with westernised white weddings. I hope that the Uchikake bags contribute towards a resurgence of this most special craft and luxurious fabric and embroidery.
One Obi is not the same as the other. Kimono Collections hand picks a variety of Obi from new to used and vintage. Some Obi are as expensive as an Uchikake, with gold threads and amazing artistry.
